I've been super busy lately building a new store front - I am still not finished; lots of final touches to be done. But I've been also a busy bee working on some new releases as well.

First, there is Memories of Grandma. As I was putting this together, I kept thinking about my grandma's old apartment in Chicago with its very colorful 70's decor. She had this bold yellow flower wallpaper that I am sure I saw in a Potbelly's restaurant LOL. The table and accessories are 28 prims and it will be on sale for Moody Mondays for 55L!

Then there is the Tanzi Outdoor Fireplace for the ZombiePopcorn Brand. Sorry, no real story behind this one. I was cold and wished I was in front of a fireplace. HAHA! Rez this by itself or next to your house. Decorate it however you want - pillows, big comfy chairs, etc. The fireplace has 8 different burn styles to match the mood you want to create. I was asked to take part in Designer Challenge, in which 2 designers take the same RL picture as inspiration and create what they see in SL in their own way.

For this round, Charlotte Bartlett of Scarlet Creative and I used this picture as our inspiration:

So a little bit about what I took from the inspiration picture:
I'll be honest, I am no skier and I like to look at snow, but I can't stand being in it. What I do love about time out in the snow is the time afterwards, drinking by the fire with your friends and family.

My parents were married in some dinky area in the Applachian Mountains and I remembered the rustic cabins from the pictures. I always loved the charm of them. So I had that in my mind but I also wanted to have a place to enjoy the outdoors....I put all that together and you get Skylar's Cabin and Skylar's Pergola.

The cabin and pergola are named after my dog who just recently died, Skylar. She was a sweet Siberian Husky who LOVED to play in the snow. I will admit, I would chase her all around the back yard in the snow. About the only time in my adult life that I can say I loved playing in the snow too. :)

This weekend also brings La Venta Eventa. This time around, I'm breaking away from the Autumn theme I've been stuck on the past few releases. The Margherita Fresco is a 106 prim, 3 room house with a 10 x 25m footprint. It's a re-texture of the Margherita Rosa with a few added items and deletions (now that we can have larger prims).

I textured the Margherita Fresco to match my Moody Mondays item: The Doorway Trellis. This comes with the trellis and copiable fence pieces and wheat. Use just the trellis or create a huge backyard with the fence or whatever you can think of.

Lots of fun events happening this weekend!

Yesterday kicked off the beginning of The Nest's Sidewalk Sale & Gatcha Event! Fucifino has lots of items available at 50% or more off their original price. The sale is only at Fucifino's Nest Location.

It's been a long while since I have actually done a fashion post. I've been buying so many things and they just sit in my inventory, untouched. Well, I was doing some inventory cleaning yesterday and while trying on things to see if it stayed or went to the trash bin, I got inspired again! And as you can tell, I'm only on the A's. I've got a long road ahead of me!

With each skin that Apple May Designs puts out, I am liking them more and more! Ever since I changed my shape, all my skins are new again - all looking SO different and some of my favorites no longer work. But the AMD skins look so cute and I love the lips. *kisses myself* LOL!

I've been a busy bee the past few weeks and I've got stuffs for you to prove it! :)

First up is my item for this weekend's La Venta Eventa: The Lombard Skybox.

Funny story about the inspiration of this skybox. It's based off my first place on my own. This place had LOADS of windows and was in a historic building. I was in heaven. On my second night there, there was this smell coming through the windows. I was like "who the hell is cooking bacon at this time of night?" The next day, I met my neighbor and he asked me how I liked the place so far and I brought up the bacon smell. And then he was kind of enough to let me know where the smell was coming from - the funeral home/crematorium next door. AHHH!!! Good thing it closed down a month later.

Anyway, the skybox is 100 prims with a 20 x 20 footprint. It has a large living area, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a deck to enjoy your pretty windlights.

I also have something for Moody Mondays - Lombard Blanket Racks. There are four different styles; each 5 prims. Buy one or buy them all in the fatpack.

I also have some non-event releases (I know! Surprising!)

The Villa Park Door Screen. I am a huge fan of repurposing the old and making it new again. This time I made old doors into a screen. I wish I had the space to have this in my RL house!

Countryside Ladder. There are 10 versions of this ladder (yeah, I couldn't decide which color I liked the best). Each is 33 prims (the ladder itself is just 3 prims), including the accessories. But it's soft-linked so you can decorate it however you like.

Last is the Hillside Ladder Shelf. Again, the repurposing the old (this case the ladder) into something new and different (garden plant decor). It's 34 prims, but again, it's soft-linked so you can decorate the ladder shelf however you'd like.

I've got two releases this week. Some cute decor items for a beach house or cottage.

First up is Winnie's Bird Cage, named after my RL kitty. He loves to chill in the window and watch the birds eat at my bird feeders.

It's 16 prims and comes with the shown accessories (birds, nest and branch). The cage door is not just for show - it works. So be careful or those birdies might get out ;-)

I also have Shuttered Away. I made the wall art for my Americano Cottage but it will go with just about any cottage/beach house.

Two styles are included (one's slightly darker than the other and the starfish are different). And the reason I did the two styles is that I couldn't decide which to sell, so you get them both. They are 11 prims each.

These are both for La Venta Eventa and each are 50L this weekend (more than likely until Monday night)! I was going to put these out yesterday night but I had Comcast drama! I canceled my phone service with them and not two minutes later, I lost my internet. Took 24 hours, many phone calls and a new modem to finally fix stuff. I do apologize for that.

I so meant to send this post out this weekend because this item was on sale for La Venta Eventa, but I so messed up my blog queue! I set this post to publish next weekend. Yikes! :/

So because of my error (I blame it on too much sun), I am extending the 100L sale price of my new house until the end of Tuesday, July 12. After that, it goes back to regular price.

On to some details now...The cottage is 120 prims with an 18 by 15 footprint. It has two floors, with the 2nd floor as the Attic Bedroom.

It also comes with an attached screened porch with a deck. Perfect for chilling and watching the all the activity on the water or just watching the sky around you.

*side note* The chairs are not included, but you can purchase them or many other colors at my store.

Inspire Challenge for Bloggers

I know I haven't been blogging much lately. I have basically thrown myself into my store and my summer. But I have had the itch to blog some fashion though I didn't know what to do. Then Harlow Heslop's Inspire Challenge came along.

And I got to thinking and thinking. I've always loved to buy just about anything in SL: clothing, skins, hairs, home and garden items. I would take pictures of all my purchases in different ways but I never shared. I also loved to decorate (and still do) new homes and stuff but never took pictures of them. Then browsing the feeds one day long ago, I came across this picture:

If you don't know who this is, it's Stacie Pryor. For some reason, I really connected with this photo. So I clicked through to her blog and started scrolling through her archives. I loved the way she showed off her clothing along with showing off her interior design skills. I really enjoy her posts.

After reading her blog, I decided to give the blogging thing a try. I had a feeling I could do this, so I practiced and practiced taking pictures. I was hoping I had some of those pics but they must have been deleted in my New Year's crazy computer clean up. So I took some pictures for today:

Anyway, LOL, I have a couple of new releases for tonight. First up, Ingrid's House:

I told you that I was in a new event, La Venta Eventa. And Ingrid's House is the item I made for it.

The house comes in with 119 prims (152 prims with the included accessories: 3 window boxes, 2 flower urns and 2 lanterns) on a 10 x 20 footprint. The second floor of the home has two bedrooms while on the main floor, you will find a living room and a kitchen and dining area. There is also a cozy back deck area with a custom sculpted trellis. Get this all for 100L until Monday!

The deck furniture does not come with the house but it is my offering for Moody Monday: the Casa di Partita Set:

It's Monday which means time for another round of Moody Mondays and new stuffs!

My item this week is Chase's Pallet Patio Set.

Recently, I have been searching for/thinking of ideas on how to reuse Pallets in RL (some fun projects coming my way this summer!). And I came up with this patio set. This will definitely be a hard project for me because it requires a saw (YIKES!). I decided to give it a try in SL first so I could see how things might fit together without have to use that saw (and potentially cutting off my fingers)! I really hope you enjoy the SL version.

The table and chairs are texture change and the chairs come with 7 sit animations. The table is 4 prims; the chairs are 5 prims each and, for the accessories: 4 prims for the candles and 5 for the pitcher of flowers.

Another Round Of Moody Monday for Fucifino

For this round of Moody Mondays, I'll be releasing the recycled comodino. And to translate into not so frou-frou terms, it's an end table or nightstand.

The table itself is one prim with the ability to change the texture to white or blue. There are optional shadows for a more realistic look. Included with the table are a lamp (3 prims), flowers (8 prims) and stacked books (2 prims).

The New Home of Awesome Blossom

Awesome Blossom is moving to a new home - Where It Begins!

I had a chance to check out the sim before it opens tomorrow morning. And WOW! It's a beautiful sim! Lots of places to take pictures (and as a Blogger, that makes me very happy!). And of course, I did take some photos that I'll share with you at the end of the post.

The sim will also be home to the Where It Begins Flea Market, which is located on the other side of the lake. The Flea Market will feature products from the following stores and designers:

I was talking to a RL girlfriend about recycling and reusing items in different ways for interior design. I really want to do a few projects like that this summer. And this is one on that list. It's a bit of a different take on the traditional photo/shadow boxes.

My SL version of it is available now @ fucifino. This picture shows how I set it up, but feel free to decorate it as you see fit - all the items are copiable and not attached to the pallet itself.

New @ [fucifino]: The Paesano House

I was just going through my Tumblr one day, browsing all the fun stuff that is always there, when I came across this house with these awesome windows. I just couldn't get over the windows. So, I closed Tumblr, logged into SL, and started building and stayed at it, until the next day, I was finished with the Paesano House.

The Paesano House is 187 prims, with custom sculpted doors, windows and railings. It has one large master bedroom, a back deck, perfect for some outdoor living, and a large living area with a menu-driven fireplace.

If you have been following my blog, you know that I like to decorate and that's how I decided to give you a tour of my new house.

Breaks for an Apple

I've been pretty busy the past few weeks and I really needed to take a break from all that and play catch up.

First on that catch up list is the new skin line from Apple May Designs - Gaia. I was a little hesitant with this skin when I saw the ad. It was different from what I've worn in the past. But then I put it on. I prefer a natural look so I really enjoyed the Gaia Base Skin line. This is a good skin to layer up with different makeup tattoos to create your own look.

My favorite tones are Gothly and Peachy. When I tried on Gothly, I'll be honest, I was expecting a completely white skin. I was glad it wasn't...it really is a nice pale.

You can also get the Seduce Make Up packs as well. I photographed this in the Pale tone of the skin. Like I said above, I prefer the more natural look.

18 weeks of doing the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! I can't believe how many bloggers still are participating - it's great! I've been getting a little lazy but this week I forced myself to get this done before the weekend - and I did it!!!

I really wanted to do a summery type post this week (we just got a whole bunch of snow this past weekend and I'm SO ready for winter to pack it up). So I was very surprised to see that I had a dress for Ecru already in my inventory. Such a simple, summery feel to it, waiting to be dressed up however you like. Imagine a cardigan, a picnic basket, a large sun hat, or maybe even a man (or woman) by your side. I so can't wait for Summer!

So today was one of my favorite events - Super Bargain Saturday. I love the great mix of home and garden and fashion items. I tend to buy way too much on the weekends!

Cheeky Pea created a new house for this event called, Bella's House.

This room was so fun to decorate. I really liked the French doors that lead into the room. Also, a little different was the window at the top of the wall instead of center. After a mini thinking session, I decided that I really liked it up like that.

New to Belle Island Estates is The Escape. Ground level is a beautiful community area for all tenants of Belle Island Estates to enjoy and, in the sky, we have 6 skyboxes available for rent. We have used skyboxes from some of the coolest creators in SL ({what next}, theosophy, Awesome Blossom, to name a few). And my collection of skyhomes will continue to increase - I have quite an addiction to purchasing them - so if you would like a different skyhome, that can be arranged (within a reasonable prim limit, that is). The skyhomes come with 200 prims in which to decorate, with a weekly tier of 399L. Please contact me in world with any questions you may have.

Vanity Universe Skin Fair Roundup Vol. 2: Tuli

Tuli is one of those my favorite places for skins. I hear that a new skin is arriving and I am there! And for the Vanity Universe Skin Fair, Tuli gives us Zoe. One of my favorite features of the skin is the cheekbones. What can I say, they are hot!

All the skin tones are beautiful, but my favorite is the sunkissed, especially as I pray for warmer weather in RL. And since Sunkissed Zoe is my favorite, the rest of the pictures are taken with that skin tone line.

Zoe comes with tons of options and your combinations are almost endless. Six makeups are available and these are on the skin layer. (see above)

You also get an additional 8 brow and 12 lips options (see above for example); 3 lash options; as well as cleavage and freckles.

All these are tattoo layers, so if you are using a non 2.x based viewer, using all these options at the same time is not doable. This skin and all the options makes me want to try Kirsten's or the official SL viewer again. (maybe, just maybe, I can get shadows to work consistently this time....)

Vanity Universe Skin Fair Roundup Vol. 1: Grixdale

I went to the Vanity Universe Skin Fair's Bloggers day this past weekend and grabbed loads of demos and proceeded to spend the rest of the day trying them all on. It took me awhile to whittle them down to the ones I liked and then to the ones I loved.

One of those skins was Grixdale's Emery skin line. There is a quiet softness to the skins. I pretty much love all the skin tones, which there are six options.

There are seven makeups available but you can only get the Bullet Proof makeup in the fat packs. Many options are available with each makeup: day or night makeup, freckles and cleavage. The picture below shows the skin without the cleavage option on the left and with the cleavage on the right.

The only unfortunate is the lack of blonde brows option. But I have left my blonde roots behind me, so I am cool with this.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 15 (Red)

So I was standing up on my platform in the sky, letting my kitties beg for my attention, as I tried to figure out what to wear for this week's challenge. Outfit after outfit tried on and then taken off. Nothing was doing it for me. Nothing screamed "THIS IS IT!" And then I got the message that there was a new group gift from Kyoot. I started to get hopeful but I had doubts - maybe it wasn't red, maybe it was pink. Then, I saw the three letters: RED. YES! I squealed when I tried it on! Va-va-voom!

Cheeky Pea @ CHIC Limited

One of my favorite stores is at it again. Cheeky Pea has released Doris' Saturday Night In exclusively for CHIC Limited (for more information about CHIC Limited, check out their blog). The theme this month is anti-Valentine and what says that better than a Saturday Night at home with coffee, books and a box of tissues. The chair comes with many animations and has a texture change menu (as does the lamp shade and the pillow in the cat bed).

New @ Cheeky Pea

I love weekend shopping in SL. Maybe it's because everyone sleeps in (except me) and I have some quiet time to just chill and concentrate on shopping. I tend to spend lots of money on the weekends. It's the only tradition I have kept since I started SL - weekend shopping - and I am sure the merchants love that.

This past weekend, Cheeky Pea released the Sofia Desk. It's the exact same desk I have been looking for to put in front of my RL bedroom window. The desk has such a romantic feel to it, with the curves of the desk and the tulips in the pitcher. I also like the added whimsy of the paper airplane. It made me giggle when I saw it. All the items on the desk come with the desk as does the chair. The included chair has quite a few animations and you also have the ability to adjust your position, which I always have to do because for some reason I made my avatar have long legs. (*note to self: maybe think about changing the length of my avatar's legs)

On the wall above the desk are Cheeky Pea's new memo boards: Birdy and Damask. I couldn't decide which one I like better so I put both of them on the wall. :-)

I < 3 Originals Fair: Absolution

Absolution is taking part in the I <3 Originals fair, with FOUR new releases. First up, is the Adrienna Dress. It's short and sexy and comes in many colors. The red one is a limited Valentine's Day edition that won't be sold anymore after the fair is over.

The Barely There Shoulder Top comes in the colors shown below as well as pink, purple and white.

Next up is the Strapless Top. This is my favorite out of the releases. I love that all these releases have many layer options which is great because these tops are great for layering with jackets or other shirts.

Finally we have the Tulip Back Shirt. It frames your booty so nicely. ;-)

I < 3 Originals Fair: Cheeky Pea

Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea has done it again with another fantastic offering. She has created the Stonehaven Gazebo for the I < 3 Originals Fair which starts today and runs until February 13.

I am in love with this Gazebo! The options seem endless. Almost every item has the ability to change texture - the pillows, the blanket, the rug, the gazebo itself and even the grass on the top!

The bench has many options: texture change and loads of animations for couples, friends and even some for a singleton like me!

I love that with a click of your mouse, a menu will pop up asking you what items you want to rez. This means you can rez what you want and not have to worry about dragging it from your inventory and taking the time to place the item where it should be. If I don't want pillows, CLICK! If I want pillows, CLICK! Very good for someone that can't make up their mind (hey, don't look at me!)

The gazebo with the bench is 12 prims and with everything rezzed, you're looking at 70 prims.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 13 (Emerald)

I won't bore you with lots of words today - my head is starting to ache and I'm super tired: a side effect of being a mother with a sick son.

I am really enjoying exploring SL to get a new location for each shot. This week I went to the sim, Verfinstern, home of Soulless Productions. A greeter welcomed me to the Whitechapel district of London, Year 1888. There are lots of meandering city streets, so be prepared to walk (it's a no fly zone). It seems to be a RP sim, but not entirely sure.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 12 (Taupe)

The 52 Weeks of Color Challenge is about the only thing I have made time to blog the past month or so. RL has kept me quiet busy...and here, I thought after the holidays things would slow down. I was sorely mistaken.

I love the Truth Hawk's hair color Cocoa. I pretty much have the same color in RL and I love my shade too (well, except for those stupid STUPID gray hairs peeping in lately). As for my skin, I am wearing Belleza's new Erika group gift in Sunkissed. How I wish my RL skin was sunkissed right now? Instead mine is kissed by snow and clouds and bitter cold so as you can imagine it is an ultra pale! :P

It's so hard for me to get into warm weather clothes right now, so I am currently bundled up in SL. I love the Two Sugars Top for Kyoot (and to be honest, the only item in my inventory that came up when I searched 'Taupe'). The cords from Doppelganger have been a favorite since they came out last fall.

My location this week was AM Radio. This location is very desolate - not much here, but this is how a desert should be. Play with your windlight settings while you are there - very cool!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 11 (Indigo)

I can't believe it's Week 11 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. This has been a great challenge to be a part of. I have come across so many great blogs. If you blog, I highly recommend you do this challenge - you won't regret it!

Now onto my inspiration....I knew the moment I saw the glow studio Benelli Pumps at The Dressing Room that I would be wearing them in my post. They are sparkly without the dreaded 'SL bling'.

The dress I am wearing is by Absolution. It's called the No Resistance Dress and it's available in Black, White, Purple and Blue (which I am wearing). The dresses are exclusive to the CHIC Limited event and once the event is over, the dress will no longer be for sale! You don't want to miss out on this!

And to continue with my New Year's Resolution of exploring of SL and sharing my locales, these photos were taken at the Skin Deep store on the Huntress sim. Some great landscaping on this sim with a nice covered bridge. Definitely worth a trip to check it out!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 10 (Sienna)

Every time I thought of this week's Color Challenge, I pictured Burnt Sienna and that didn't make me happy. I never liked that color and when I was younger and colored, I would never used it. I know, I'm such a color snob :-P

So I was happy when I saw Whippet & Buck's 50L Friday offering this week, I was happy. I really liked this hue of Sienna. The top comes with multiple layers and that makes it easier to create outfits. And I know I have blogged Reek's Papercut Cardigans before, but they are one of my favorite items in my inventory. Speaking of favorites, I love long skirts (especially ones without systems skirts).

So in keeping with my blogging resolution for 2011, it's time for the location. This time I went to Farm House @ Lee County, MS, Mississippi Delta East. There is a neighboring sim that you can visit as well. Think Rural, Farm Land and a nice big wooden water tower.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 9 (Silver)

For this week's Color Challenge, I decided the only place I would frequent for this challenge would be my inventory. So that meant I would not buy anything. AHHH - the pressure! But I've been doing some New Year/New You type cleaning of my inventory this week: better organizing, mass deletion. I started at above 60,000 items and am at a little under 48,000. Not bad, but my goal is to get under 40,000, so I've been really trying items on as well and this is how I came up with my outfit for the Color Challenge by just trying on all the items in my Silver folder. I organize my clothing by Color/Type of Clothing(i.e. shirts)/Clothing Sub Type (i.e. tanks). I also add a date (month/year) to each folder and any unique identifiers like 50L Fridays (FLF), The Dressing Room (TDR), Project Themeory (PT), etc. I have an entire system - it may be a little too meticulous for some, but it works for me. I am the same way with all my other objects - you should see my Objects folder!

Let's get back to Silver:

One of my New Year's Blogging Resolutions was to tell my readers where I took my pictures. I hope to explore more and more places this year and get down from the safety of my platform in the sky. This week's pictures were taken at barbee, a very nice Japenese Sim. It's very monochromatic which I really liked for this week's challenge.

I almost went all the way with the Silver theme, but I just couldn't go with the ultra, ultra pale vampire sparkly skin. (snickers) Actually, the first skin that came to mind for this post was Curio's Ice Queen. I chose the Blizzard makeup and the lip gloss lip tattoo.

I'll shut up now and give you the credits! I've got more Inventory Organizing to do!!! :-)

Project Themeory: New Year Resolutions!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 8 (Green)

I love everything about Green: my RL bedroom is a soft shade of green; I went to a school wear our colors were Green and White; I love being 'Green' in everything I do. My inventory had lots of green in there for me to choose from, but this week, I wanted to be different from my other posts - I wanted to wear a dress. I rarely wear dresses in RL...and SL. I would love to wear them more often but the occasion to do has been limited since becoming a mother. So a new years resolution for myself in RL/SL: to wear more dresses and feel oh so pretty!

This dress by Zaara is absolutely beautiful! The only fitting I had to do was to adjust it for my poses, but besides that, it was meant for me LOL! The shawl is from Zaara too. The detail is stunning (check the pic below).

It's amazing what a skin and hair color change will do for your look. I hardly recognize myself. I really enjoy this skin tone on me. So why do I always purchase lighter tones?? A thought I will ponder in the new year.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 7 (Cerise)

I love pink! My closet is full of pink! I wish I could have a pink bedroom in RL but my hubby says no. But I was really surprised to see that my SL was devoid of pink and the pink I had was a soft baby pink and not the bold hotness of Cerise. So I had a nice shopping spree, all in the spirit of blogging inspiration.

I saw these pants at Coco awhile back while shopping for another 52 Weeks of Color Challenge post and instantly remembered them. I love the wrinkles in them and that they come with multiple layers (not needed for this post, but I love to wear pants with an untucked shirt).

And my new fascination are ties. I think it's because I saw Pretty Woman recently and the whole naked yet for a tie scene is one of my favorites in the movie.

The Upcoming New Year Resolutions

I've already been thinking of ways to make my life simpler for the coming New Year, especially in regards to more regular blog posts and my real estate business in SL. I wish I could figure out a way to devote more time to both.

I figured one of the ways I could give more time to my real estate business was for me to create a blog just for Belle Island Estates, where I will put our recent property openings, deals and specials, as well as activities and news for residents.

How does one draw a fashion post from an animal? Well, I remember a time when I was younger having to use my great-grandpa's outhouse (he lived on a farm way up in the northern, desolate part of Wisconsin) and I saw a deer in the snow on the way there. I thought it was the coolest thing ever!

The Snowflake Experience Post #2

The Snowflake Experience Post #1

The Snowflake Experience (TSE) is an event with over 60 vendors collaborating to help raise money for Toys For Tots. Each vendor will donate a portion or the full amount of their profits to Toys For Tots. I took a tour of the sim tonight while watching Santa Claus is Coming To Town. It's full of candy canes, snow, cabins and, my fave, gingerbread houses!

There are many exclusive items for this event, which starts December 4th, some of which I will show here today. There were so many goodies at TSE, I won't be able to fit it in this post today. Along with the vendor shops, there is a grid-wide TSE Hunt (search for those red and white candy canes) and for all those gacha lovers out there, there will be a Gacha Festival on December 10th.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 4 (Plum)

Here we are with another installment of Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. This week brings Plum. So, when I started my search, I began to realize every designer and even the interwebs had a different notion of what Plum was. So I'm going with what I think of when I hear Plum and I think of a deep dark purple. And with all these challenges, I can't make myself where all the same color. Maybe next week? :-)

Just a quick post before I head off to a night full of wonderful slumber (hopefully).

Today was Black Friday and it sucked - waiting in long lines and still not getting what I wanted gave me a killer headache. I came home and logged into SL and prepared for the One Eleven Event. I tried and tried to get to the vent, but TP try after try, I was denied. I figured the SL Black Friday was going to go the way of my RL Black Friday, until finally, this came up on my chat: [06:05 PM] Requesting Teleport...
[06:05 PM] Contacting new region.

I was SO happy! I was in the One Eleven Event. Time to start clicking 'buy' on the items I wanted. Then, SCREECH!! The prices were outrageous! There were no deals like in RL Black Friday - just limited edition items. I had to rethink things - fast - because there were a lot of bitchiness in the room (remove your prims, you're causing lag; stop moving, you're causing lag; you're standing still, you're causing lag; and my favorite, you're talking, you're causing lag).

So I picked up the !Ohmai Azure's Pico Sweater {Vintage}. I had to have this. It's a lovely sweater. I had to do very little adjusting to the prims. Maybe I finally got my, uh, breast size right LOL!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 2 (Blue)

I am impressed with myself. I am now on week 2 of a challenge! *does a happy dance* What challenge am I talking about, you ask? It's the Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. This week the challenge is the color Blue. This one is a hard for me. I am not a collector of blue. I actually try to stay away from it. But I did have two pieces in my inventory that I happen to love: my Surf Co. Belmar jeans and the Early Morning Cardigan from Fishy Strawberry. The Story of My Home

The moment I saw Awesome Blossom creator, Clementine Ishtari, plurk about her upcoming skybox - The Story of Home - I got excited. Some people are shoe people, some are skin people (I fall into that category), and some are house people. I collect skyboxes and houses like people buy outfits. I am constantly changing my homes around and that's why I think I like skyboxes so much. I just keep stacking them in the sky. I've currently have 5 skyboxes up in different phases of decoration.

I instantly knew from the picture and ads how I would decorate the place. It reminded me of my first apartment after I had graduated from college. It was small yet open and homey, with hardwood floors and cracked plaster walls. The place simply charmed me as has this skybox. The skybox comes with a sculpted radiator, ceiling fan, wrought iron patio railing and a "Home Begins" wall decal. The skybox and included items is 36 prims - not too shabby (Skybox itself is 26 prims)!

So I'll now shut my mouth and get to my pictures.

I love a good challenge and when I read about Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, I decided to give it a go. I have been a bit of a slacker lately when it comes to my blogging. And this gives me a purpose to my blogging which I need because I have such a back log of awesome clothing I've purchased lately. I am hoping to use a mix of old and new items in the further challenges but for this week, you get to see all new items for the most part.

I've been meaning to blog this outfit for a few days now but I've been currently redesigning my land. Then I received the new group gift from Olive Juice and I just had to take a picture to blog it. IsabellaGrace Baroque is the bomb - I always, always love anything she creates. She is creative and unique - a winning combination.

Two of my other current faves highlighted in this photo are from JANE and Surf Couture. I am so glad that Janie Marlowe is back and really digging (my son's current favorite word...lol) her new items.

I hope you all were able to pick up the boots put out by Surf Couture for last week's 50L Friday. I am in love with these boots. There's only one thing I wish that was different about these: that she released MORE colors. hehehe

Today, I am seeing red and not just clothes. I am sleepy....and therefore, pretty cranky, and the littlest things are pissing me off (GRRRR!) My Plurky Challenge Week # 2: Gone but not Forgotten

You've probably seen many blog posts in the past couple weeks concerning the Plurky Challenge. I knew when I saw this week's (Gone but not Forgotten), I would have issues. You see, I've been purging my inventory and getting rid of stuff I never wear or thought I would never wear again. Heck, I had over 60K in my inventory; some things had to go. I am proud to say I got just over 50K now. But it made this challenge EXTREMELY hard.

I could not find ANY hair in my inventory that fit this challenge. I've been buying Truth Hair since 2008, along with Magika. And I was not really around in SL during 2009. I have loads of hair BUT it's mostly from this year and the ones I have from earlier are the stores are still around (which we ALL love, right?). The same goes for my skin.

The first skin I bought was a Belleza in 2007 and as we know they are still around, as is every skin I have! Even the ones I've been lucky to score on hunts - all are around (or rebranded). So, I just used my go-to skin - Exodi.

BUT! I do have clothing and shoes that fit this challenge (YAY ME!) I tried so hard to stay away from Last Call, but I couldn't! I bought like every pair of shoes when they closed and then I was broke for a long while. Plus, I am not a shoes type of girl *GASP* I know, right? In RL I only have a few pairs of shoes that I wear regularly and that's because I like to be barefoot - I never said I was normal LOL!

And for my outfit, I picked something from JILL. This is a recent closing - I really liked this store and got a little sad-faced when I received the group notice that the store was going to close its doors.

My poses are from one of my favorite pose stores - Olive Juice. Using her poses totally make me fail this Challenge but I love her and can't help it :)

I hope I don't fail next week's challenge....maybe I shouldn't do any inventory cleaning until the Plurky Challenges are over???
