One Belle Avenue, Second Life

18 weeks of doing the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! I can't believe how many bloggers still are participating - it's great!  I've been getting a little lazy but this week I forced myself to get this done before the weekend - and I did it!!!

I really wanted to do a summery type post this week (we just got a whole bunch of snow this past weekend and I'm SO ready for winter to pack it up).  So I was very surprised to see that I had a dress for Ecru already in my inventory. Such a simple, summery feel to it, waiting to be dressed up however you like.  Imagine a cardigan, a picnic basket, a large sun hat, or maybe even a man (or woman) by your side.  I so can't wait for Summer!

First up for Cheeky Pea this weekend is the Folly Beach Daybed Set for Super Bargain Saturday (SBS). I always love the cute poses that come in Cheeky Pea's furniture. The backdrop for this photo is the Coastal Living Skybox from fucifino (to be blogged about at a later date).  I am wearing some of my favorites in this picture: Neve from Truth, my favorite pair of jeans from Surf Co., and the Precious Pink tank top from Fishy Strawberry.



Next up is Spruce Up Your Space (SUYS).  It's the one year anniversary of SUYS!  I can't believe it's been only that long! Cheeky Pea's offering is Dandelion Clocks. The Snowflake Experience (TSE) is an event with over 60 vendors collaborating to help raise money for Toys For Tots. Each vendor will donate a portion or the full amount of their profits to Toys For Tots. I took a tour of the sim tonight while watching Santa Claus is Coming To Town. It's full of candy canes, snow, cabins and, my fave, gingerbread houses!

There are many exclusive items for this event, which starts December 4th, some of which I will show here today. There were so many goodies at TSE, I won't be able to fit it in this post today. Along with the vendor shops, there is a grid-wide TSE Hunt (search for those red and white candy canes) and for all those gacha lovers out there, there will be a Gacha Festival on December 10th.

Just a quick post before I head off to a night full of wonderful slumber (hopefully).

Today was Black Friday and it sucked - waiting in long lines and still not getting what I wanted gave me a killer headache. I came home and logged into SL and prepared for the One Eleven Event. I tried and tried to get to the vent, but TP try after try, I was denied. I figured the SL Black Friday was going to go the way of my RL Black Friday, until finally, this came up on my chat: [06:05 PM]  Requesting Teleport...
[06:05 PM]  Contacting new region.

I was SO happy! I was in the One Eleven Event.  Time to start clicking 'buy' on the items I wanted. Then, SCREECH!!  The prices were outrageous! There were no deals like in RL Black Friday - just limited edition items. I had to rethink things - fast - because there were a lot of bitchiness in the room (remove your prims, you're causing lag; stop moving, you're causing lag; you're standing still, you're causing lag; and my favorite, you're talking, you're causing lag).

So I picked up the !Ohmai Azure's Pico Sweater {Vintage}. I had to have this.  It's a lovely sweater. I had to do very little adjusting to the prims. Maybe I finally got my, uh, breast size right LOL!

I am impressed with myself. I am now on week 2 of a challenge! *does a happy dance* What challenge am I talking about, you ask? It's the Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. This week the challenge is the color Blue. This one is a hard for me. I am not a collector of blue. I actually try to stay away from it. But I did have two pieces in my inventory that I happen to love: my Surf Co. Belmar jeans and the Early Morning Cardigan from Fishy Strawberry. You've probably seen these jeans blogged by me like 100 times (an exaggeration I know, but I wear these A LOT) and I expect you'll see them in the future as well :-P

I love a good challenge and when I read about Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, I decided to give it a go. I have been a bit of a slacker lately when it comes to my blogging. And this gives me a purpose to my blogging which I need because I have such a back log of awesome clothing I've purchased lately. I am hoping to use a mix of old and new items in the further challenges but for this week, you get to see all new items for the most part.

I've been meaning to blog this outfit for a few days now but I've been currently redesigning my land. Then I received the new group gift from Olive Juice and I just had to take a picture to blog it. I have a confession to make....I am a collector of skyboxes (oh, might as well add houses to that list).  And my collector sense got all excited when Stacie Pryor plurked that she created a skybox.  I absolutely love when she blogs her SLinterior decorating. I seriously would pay her to stage my house when I sell again. Just this week, she set her 'get lost/get found skybox' for sale on XStreetSL.  (and yes, I did a happy dance as I signed into XStreetSL!)  I was even happier when I saw that the price is quite reasonable.

I added some shutters to it (more to block out my mess in the sky).  I'm still decorating it. Artwork is always the last thing for me - even in my RL house; my art is still in the moving boxes. But I wanted to get this posted, since it seems like I haven't blogged in forever.  Hope you enjoy :-)

Today was one of those days.  I got a lot of shopping in.  Participated in a lot of lag and crashing.  To console myself...I decided to have a Coke and proceeded to spill it on myself!


As you can imagine, I was not too happy!  I just bought these shorts today.  So I grabbed myself a beer this time and changed into another pair of shorts.  I was determined not to ruin these, but I was thirsty and I had a few more beers.

I finally got around to blogging about the beautiful Sway Dresses from Sand Shack Surf Co.  This dress reminded me of the song Sway by Michael Buble (so yummy and romantic).  I love the dainty femininity to this dress and paired with Amacci's Lil Hair in Dark Copper, I feel like an Irish Girl running in the hills.  The warm weather for me is all about the beautiful sundresses and the wind in my hair...I better get out my sunscreen so I don't mar this beautiful skin!

Just going to blog about the clothing I bought right now.  I'll write another post for the furnishings (since I create furniture myself, I have a special place in my heart for it).

First off, Tiny Bird never disappoints with their 50L Friday offerings.  The hairs are so cute and feminine. And this time around, a lovely dress with pockets, that now has me on the search for a hands in my pockets type of pose (well, it's added to my ever-growing list of places I've got to check out.  I need to start checking places off that list soon before it becomes a book LOL).






















Next up is the very casual outfit from Reek.  I love the color blue so that's in its favor.  Also, the shoes are awesome!  Love that they have different colors for the stripes.  I will be using these sandals and socks through out the summer months.  I had to go with some type of ponytail and this is one of my all time favorites from Magika.












































And my final stop (for clothes, that is) was Sand Shack Surf Co.  Each week they are part of 50L Friday's, I am finding more and more I like there.  This week, my hands were full with my purchases...but I'll just show you the 50L item :)  This gray striped sweater seems perfect for a spring night...maybe by a fire...or maybe at the beach after a long day of surfing...  Boy, as I write this, I so want to start looking into a RL vacation somewhere!

Okay, back to the post.  I've paired the sweater with a pair of Surf Co. jeans I picked up today while waiting for the FLF item to rez.  Do the shop owners do that on purpose?  LOL.
